Did anyone else not want ultrasound during pregnancy?

If so, did you have a hard time finding a doctor who would go along with your wishes? Most doctors around here routinely use ultrasound, especially the doptone and the electronic fetal monitor.
With all four of my pregnancies, I always felt movement before the doctor ever heard the heartbeat. I never felt movement until about 20 weeks.
Some people consider the safety of ultrasound controversial and I did not want to take any chances. Also the electronic monitor has known risks.

I had one ultrasound with my first pregnancy. I had an OB.

For my second baby I wanted to do something different. We hired midwives and had a homebirth. We could have opted for an ultrasound if we wanted one, but there was no need. If there had been any indication for one we would have gotten one, but we didn’t get one just because.

I don’t think I’ll do anything different in any more pregnancies I might have. We’ll go the homebirth route again and will pass on the ultrasounds.
