Children’s Night Lights
1970′s Children’s Textbook?
I doubt ANYONE would know or even remember what I’m talking about but here goes. Back in the late 70′s, I remember my 1st grade teacher giving me a textbook to take home. I can’t remember the title of the textbook, but I think it was either “Red Light, Green Light, Go!” or “One Potato, Two Potato.” Each night, my mother would read to us (me and my sister), a story from this book before we went to bed. I remember one story was about potatoes rolling down a hill and another story was about school children who had a fire drill one day while at school. I’ve been looking for this book since forever. I now have a daughter and I’d love to read to her some of the same stories my mother read to me and my sister. If anyone has any idea what I’m talking about or knows the name of the book, please let me know. Thanks.
is there any way that you could possibly contact the school district that you were in at the time? I do not know if they would have curriculum records going back that far but if they used the book for any length of time then they might even still have an old copy stored somewhere. sorry I don’t have any better ideas. I used to love some of the stories from some of my text books too. wonder why more of those stories never got published as just regular children’s books.
