Boy Airplane
Long before the American boy bands came to the music scene and has won fans around the world, had Menudo, a popular Puerto Rico boy. Often started in 1977 by Edgardo Diaz with his cousins, who happened to be brothers in real life too, Carlo and Oscar Melendez and Nefty and Fernando Sallaberry. The band used to perform about the Puerto Rico shopping centers and festivals. His first success were the ghosts "and landed with Telemundo Channel 2 TV, which broadcasts every Saturday night.
It was in 1980 when Menudo singing career reached its climax. This time, the brothers Sallaberry Melendez and was replaced by Johnny Lozada, René Farrant, Miguel Cancel, Xavier Serbia. Menudo was very famous in Latin American countries like Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina, Mexico and Panama. Also has this time Edgardo Diaz was able to purchase a Cessna aircraft belonging to U.S. president Richard Nixon. This raises the history and the pride of Puerto Rico's flag Menudo was the first boy band that flies his private plane.
Menudo also acquired a fan base in European countries like Spain. It was not even coined a medical term "Menuditis" which refers to the woman who needs medical attention after attending a concert Meduna. This term is compared with The Beatles "Beatlemania.
In 1984, Ricky Melendez took Menudo retired after eight years to make way for a new singer Martin and the young Ricky, who became a famous solo singer. With the new members Roy Rosello, Ray Reyes, Raymond Acevedo, Roby Rosa, the group has produced hit songs like Indianapolis, you know chocolate and a ball that was used by 2 Cannonball Run movies Hollywood.
