toddler bed guard rails – he says no, I say yes – who’s right?
Our son is nearly 2 years old. We recently decided to transition him from a crib to a toddler bed. I told my husband we need to get toddler bed guard rails. My husband thinks this is unnecessary and that putting cushions on the floor next to our son’s bed is enough. Who’s right?
I think both are good ideas. Toddler beds are quite small, and the chance of a child falling off and getting seriously hurt is very small. Cushions would work fine, on the other hand, having guard rails would teach them how to stay in the bed and not roll around like crazy, that way they won’t fall.
If you do get the rails, get those that don’t have bars, that way little feet won’t get stuck.
