Postpartum depression linked to an increased risk of injury to infants and young children
Depression often occurs after childbirth. Baby Blues is a very common complaint after the birth of a child, but postnatal depression can be a serious problem and must be treated. Many mothers of mood swings, mild depression, and may have difficulty concentrating.
In addition, the mother may also have trouble sleeping, even when the baby sleeps. Loss appetite is not uncommon. These symptoms usually begin about 3-4 days after birth and may last several days. The new mother may be happy one minute and crying the next. This is known as Baby Blues.
The symptoms are normal and usually disappear after about ten days. Postpartum depression can last much longer. This depression can begin weeks or months after delivery. Postpartum depression is a disease that requires treatment.
Symptoms may include the following:

# Loss of appetite
# Decreased energy
Lack of motivation #
# Difficulty sleeping
# Feelings of guilt, worthlessness or hopelessness

# Feeling that life is not worth living
# Little interest in the baby
Just as a bank note, in addition to these symptoms that some women have thoughts of hurting and / or the baby. This is a post-partum psychosis and is obviously very serious.
Postpartum depression affects approximately 15-20 percent of women and 10 percent of men. Parents of nine months the students seem to be especially likely to develop symptoms of major depression. This may be related to financial difficulties or changes in the marital relationship. Some husbands feel women are more focused on the child in him and in this adaptation can be difficult.
