How many years to really learn to play tennis?
Seriously. Tennis seems a fairly simple game to learn. Type someones hand racket that is very athletic (great speed and strength) and learned the basics of the game and within 5 years or so of practice, I see as the main candidate for the professional ranks. I think it takes time for more tennis players to develop athletisism. Anyone agree?
I was in college and Tennis Pro for a number of years, and here are the facts. Like all professional sports, the benefits make it look easy. However, if you go over on the subject, finds that there are enough little more complicated skills. Go see a tennis match your local division of a university or finding a class tournament open in your area. Watch the game live closed, you can see the skill, technique and athleticism is quite considerable. Then the same questions you posted here and most can tell you not to do. In fact, in my opinion, you can do, but only a handful of great athletes and good coaches. Even then there is no guarantee that they can handle the mental part of the game. Looking great in the field of practice is one thing, playing a professional player is something 10 times more difficult. There are many great athletes in the future and the Challenger tennis will never be a great competitor the professional ranks, and all have played a lot more than five years.
